This little treat holder was made using Dawn's tutorial. The stamp is from Mr. Twigster by SU! The DSP is My Mind's Eye.

“You hem me in---behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.” Psalm 139:5
This is the same provision of God that was described in Exodus 14 when the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel's army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. God goes before us, follows behind us, and hems us safe inside the realm of His protection.
Father, I thank You for watching over us. You hem us safely inside the realm of Your protection. Please continue to watch over us and protect us. I love You. Amen and amen.

Another Ghirardelli holder...this time I used the scallop edge punch for the decorative border. The designer paper is retired from SU! The stamp set is Perfect Presentation....retired from SU! I used one of the many tutorials that are floating around the web to make this one. I'm sorry, I can't remember exactly which one.
“The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouth. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.” Psalm 135:15-18
“Those who make them will be like them....”. That is a scary thought. There are so many things in this world today that become “gods” to people. We will be reflections of the God that we perceive. I want to be a reflection of the one true God...not manmade gods that are abundant among the material things of this life.
Father, I thank You that You are the One True God, maker of heaven and earth. Thank You that I was made in Your image, therefore I can be a reflection of You. Help me to live my life so that when others see me, they see You. I love You. Amen and amen.

Isn't this so cute and little? It's a mini-slider for holding a Ghirardelli chocolate. You'll be seeing lots of Ghirardelli holders until I finish off this bag that's sitting in front of me, unless I eat them first! The measurements are 5"x3-1/2" scored at 2-1/4" and 4-1/2". The cardstock for the belly band measures 1-11/16" x 5" and designer paper measures 1-1/2" x 5". The slider was put together just like the tutorial on Splitcoast by Beate Johns.
"He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David..." Luke 2:69
Do you remember the ram caught by the horns in the thicket on Mount Moriah when Abraham was preparing to offer Isaac as a sacrifice? Do you remember what Abraham told Isaac? "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." (Genesis 22:8). In Genesis 22:13, Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by the horns in the thicket. Jesus Christ was the Ram whose head was wrapped in thorns to secure God's blessing for all who would receive it. Jesus is the "horn of salvation" for us.
Father, I thank You for this day and the sacrifice You have provided for us in the person of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Thank You that I don't have to worry about where the sacrifice will come from. You have provided. No matter what I have done in my life, Jesus has paid the price for all my sins...past, present, and future. Praise You! Amen and amen.

This card was inspired by one that I saw in a box of store-bought cards at Lowe's the other day. I used my Rubbernecker pine branch stamp and the snowman from It's Snow Time by SU! For the J and Y, I used my Tall Tales Alphabet from SU!
This little candy holder can fit two Ghiradelli chocolates perfectly. I cut my cardstock at 3-1/2 x 8-1/2 and scored it at 3/8" down both long sides. Then I turned the paper in the landscape position and scored at 2-1/2, 2-7/8, 5-3/4, 6-1/8. I used my 1-3/8 square punch to punch out a window in the bottom section. I used the ticket corner punch on the flap, added a cardstock mat and designer paper, then finished it off with ribbon and a tag. The stamps I used were from Clear Dollar Stamps- You're So Sweet set.
"Come let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song." Psalm 95:1-2
Giving thanks is not just something we do at Thanksgiving, but rather it's a duty for every day. I don't mean that we do it out of obligation, but we do it out of love for our Lord.
Father, I come humbly before You today in thanksgiving and praise. You are the Rock of my salvation. I thank You for the blessings of life, and all that Your Word promises is ours if we love You and serve You. For my family, health, home, job, friends, life, love, and so many other things...I thank You. As I think back over the year that has gone by, we lost someone very near and dear to us, but yet you have brought another safely through cancer. We have another loved one very near and dear to us who is battling cancer at this moment, but You have blessed us with new life just 4 weeks ago. You are so faithful. We deserve nothing, but yet You give so much. You are my life. I love You. Amen and amen.

This is a little notepad that we made at my Christmas class this weekend. It starts with a piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock cut to 8-1/8 x 5-1/2, scored at 2-5/8 and 2-7/8. (Check the measurements of your notepad first to be sure that it fits.) Then I layered a piece of My Mind's Eye DSP over the front, measuring 7-7/8 x 2-1/2. I used my purple Marvy scalloped rectangle punch to mount the snowman image on. I cut a slit on the side using my slit punch from SU! to thread my Riding Hood Red satin ribbon through.
I saw this card on someone's blog (I'm sorry I don't remember where) and decided to try it myself. The base of the card is Real Red, which I ran through the Big Shot using the Cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots. The "fur" is Whisper White, Cuttlebugged with the Swirls folder. The belt is Basic Black with a shiny gold "buckle". Too easy!!
"I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." Isaiah 62:6-7
To be a watchman is to keep watch over that which you've been entrusted. Not keeping silent and giving Him no rest refers to persistent prayer. As mothers and grandmothers, we've been given the responsibility of being a watchman over our families.
Father, thank You for this day. Thank You for the responsibility of being a watchman for my family. You've entrusted them to me, and I don't take my responsibility lightly. Help me to be a better mother and grandmother each day. I love You. Amen and amen.

This project was made using an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of Whisper White and a very basic box pattern. I scored the paper at 2" and 6-1/2" along the short side. Then, along the 11" side, I scored my paper at 4-1/2" and 6-1/2". I cut the tabs and folded up the box, adhering it with sticky strip. I layered a strip of Ski Slope DSP (2 x 4-1/2) on the two sides. On the front, I layered Baja Breeze (4-1/4 x 4-1/4) and Riding Hood Red (3-3/4 x 3-3/4). My mitten (from Rubbernecker Stamps) was made by stamping on the same Ski Slope DSP. I cut it out and mounted it on dimensionals. Then I stamped the mitten on Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red. I cut out the Baja Breeze strip that goes across the mitten and the hearts from the Riding Hood Red and layered them both on the Ski Slope mitten. The sentiment is from "Home Sweet Home" by Taylored Expressions. I cut thin strips of Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red, crumpled them up, and used them as box filler. This would be perfect for holding cards, or candy.
What a fast and fun project this was! I used Riding Hood Red and Whisper White cardstock. I'm sorry to say that I don't know the maker of the designer paper. I bought the pieces in a stack of 6x6's and none of them had the maker listed on them. The chocolate is Ghiradelli Peppermint...yummmmmmmmm! The Riding Hood Red was cut at 3x8 and scored at 3-7/8 and 4-1/8. Then I slid my word window punch as far into one end as it would go and punched out the place for the candy. I had to slide a little over to the right and to the left to expand the word window so it would be large enough to fit the candy. I layered Whisper White (2-3/4 x 1-3/4) and the designer paper (2-1/2 x 1-1/2) under the word window punch-out. I used my rectangle punch (hand-held) to punch out two holes above the word window for the ribbon (I punched only through the top layer). Fold the holder, matching the top edges and punch through the same rectangle holes for the back layer. Thread ribbon through the rectangle holes and slide your candy into the word window.
"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear." Isaiah 59:1-2
Sometimes it seems that God does not hear our prayers...our cries for help. His Word offers us an explanation for that. God will turn a deaf ear to our petitions when we harbor sin in our lives which goes unconfessed. So, first we must pour out our hearts to God in confession and ask His forgiveness. Then He will hear our prayers. Now, that doesn't mean that He's going to answer the way we want Him to. But, He will always answer the way that is best for us.
Father, thank You for this wonderful day, and a week of vacation to spend in Thanksgiving and enjoying my sweet little Leighton. I ask You to forgive me where I fail You, Lord. I know that in so many ways I fail You everyday. Please put my feet back on the path of righteousness. Show me the way. I love You. Amen and amen.

Is it just me, am I doing something wrong, or is Whisper White ink supposed to be tacky for a while? I tried setting it with my heat gun, but it still stayed tacky for several days. I actually made this little bag 3 days ago and it's just now not coming off on my fingers. Is there some ink that works better...or is acrylic paint better to use for white? Any ideas?
"The LORD is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?" Psalm 118:6
I was reminded of this verse while thinking about something personal that has been weighing heavy on my mind. Another verse kept popping up, as well: "No weapon formed against you shall prosper..." Isaiah 54:17. I have to keep telling myself that God knows what the problem is and He is in control. I have nothing to fear. He will handle it. I know that...but a part of me still wants to hang onto it.
Father, I thank You for this wonderful Friday and another opportunity to rest and relax with the weekend and the Thanksgiving week vacation coming up. Lord, You know what I'm dealing with right now...it's nothing new. You and I have talked about it many times over the past 40+ years. I know that You are in control...and honestly there is nothing I can do to change the situation, no matter how hard I might try. It's all in Your hands. Help me to leave it there and not try to snatch it back from You. I love You Lord. Amen and amen.

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." Matthew 7: 21
Salvation is not for those who only pay lip service to God, but for those who actually do His will. It's easy to speak, but much more difficult to put feet to your words.
Father, I thank You for this day. Thank You for the Word which gives hope and comfort. I pray that I would not be found guilty of paying lip service to You, but that You'll look at me and say "Well done, my good and faithful servant." I love You, Lord. Amen and amen.

I'm trying out some very simple cards for my upcoming Christmas class. This is another CASE of one of Angie's (ChicnScratch) cards. I love the pink and chocolate together for Christmas. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it." Matthew 7:13
The narrow gate that Jesus asks us to enter is that of covenant...a total surrender of oneself to Jesus Christ. People live for their own selfish interests if they enter through the wide gate, and it leads to destruction...an eternity separated from God. The narrow gate is difficult, in that it is the way of obedience and persecution, but it leads to life everlasting with God in heaven.
Father, I thank You for this wonderful day and another opportunity to spend much time with my sweet little one. You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I pray that my life is lived to reflect what I believe and that I enter through the narrow gate. Help me to live my life more like You. I love You. Amen and amen.

This little 4x4 Old Olive card was made using one of the Nestabilities scalloped squares. I folded and scored my paper as I normally would and then placed the die on top with one of the scalloped edges hanging off of the scored side. This left the scored edge uncut. I finished it off with a series of punched circles. "Tis the Season" stamp is from Hero Arts, punched out with the blue Marvy scalloped circle punch. The Old Olive circle is punched with the pink Marvy circle punch, and the Riding Hood Red circle is punched with the purple Marvy scalloped circle punch. The ribbon is Riding Hood Red tafetta from SU! Easy peasy!
"For I am the Lord, I do not change..." Malachi 3:6
Things around us change everyday...many times they are drastic changes. We never know what we're going to wake up to on the news. Thankfully there is One who never changes. We can always count on our God to be the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Father, thank You for this day and thank You for the wonderful time we had last night at our math activity at school. The teachers worked hard and were rewarded for their efforts with a tremendous turnout. You are so faithful to us. Lord, I thank You that we can always count on You to remain the same, no matter what happens around us. That is such a comfort in these uncertain times. I love You. Amen and amen.

This is such a simple little card...I love it! Angie at ChicnScratch had done a card very similar to this...that was my inspiration, but I added a Baja scallop and a different sentiment. The card itself is Baja Breeze, cut at 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2". The stamp set is A Tree for All Seasons from SU!. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I used the 1-3/4" circle punch from SU! and the blue and pink scallop punches from Marvy.
