Under the Blood

"Would you be free from the burden of sin
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o'er evil a victory win
There's wonderful power in the blood..."

Do you ever get a song in your head and it's stuck? If ever a song plays over and over in my mind, I rejoice when it's this one. Power in the blood...what an awesome thing! Power to heal, power to save, power to forgive. Way before Jesus shed His blood at Calvary for us, God gave us a glimpse of the power in the blood. Leviticus 14:1-7 shows us how lepers were freed from bondage and the law when, as they were finally cleansed, would bring 2 birds to the priest. The priest would pour water in a basin, kill one of the birds, and bind the other bird to a piece of wood and a sprig of hyssop using a piece of scarlet thread. The living bird was doused, or baptized, with the blood and water. Immediately the frightened bird would be taken to an open field and set free...all because of the wood, hyssop, scarlet thread, blood, and water. What a beautiful glimpse at Calvary. Power in the blood...power in the blood.
Lord Jesus, I thank you today for the power in the blood. I thank you that it has the power to heal, save, and forgive. I plead the blood of Jesus over Wayne today, Lord, for healing. Protect my Richard and Wayne as they are away, and Lord, I'm believing you for Wayne's healing. Yes, there is power in the blood. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen and amen.
